Dr. Mark A. Lucas began Animal Talk Medical Center in 1986. He graduated from the University of Missouri College of Agriculture in 1978, with a B.S. degree in Animal Science and then graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. His interests include dermatology, nutrition and surgery. Dr. Lucas really enjoys treating his client’s pets as if they were his own with the goal being getting them to live as long and healthy of a life as possible. Dr. Lucas is also the host of three radio shows. Animal Talk airs Sunday mornings on KFAV 99.9 of which he has been the host since 2003. You can also listen to Dr. Lucas live every 3rd Tuesday on Live Wire, KWRE 73AM. Dr. Lucas has been on the live show since 2003. In 2011 he added Hunting, Fishing & Animal Talk with Dan and Doc. The show airs Saturday mornings on KFAV 99.9. Dr. Lucas has two Labrador Retrievers, Winnie and Benelli and his hobbies/interests include woodworking, hunting, and fishing.
Dr. Jacob Lucas grew up helping out around the clinic with Dr. Mark Lucas. He graduated from the University of Missouri College of Agriculture in 2012, with a B.S. degree in Animal Science and then graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. His interests include dentistry, ultrasound, nutrition, and surgery. You can also hear Dr. Jake on Animal Talk with his dad on Sunday mornings. He shares two Great Pyrenees and a cat: Layla, Leo and Margo. His hobbies/interests include woodworking, camping, fishing, and hiking with his two dogs.
Margie Lucas has been with Animal Talk Medical Center since February 1988 and is our Office Manager. She graduated with a business degree and has always had a passion for animals. Her hobbies included beading, crocheting, shopping, and baking.
Amanda Lucas has been with Animal Talk since May 2009 and is our General Manager. In 2012 she graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Animal Science. In 2014 she graduated from Columbia College with a B.S in Business Administration Management and Marketing. Amanda shares two Great Pyrenees and a cat: Layla, Leo and Margo. Her hobbies/interests include cooking, camping, fishing, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Chris Dever has been with Animal Talk since 2009. She primarily works as a receptionist but you can occasionally find her in our grooming salon. Chris has 8 dogs, 5 cats, and 3 horses. Her hobbies/interests include horse back riding and ATV riding.
Yvonne Sullivan has been with Animal Talk since 2013. She can either be found in reception or working as a technician. She has an English Bulldog, a Miniature Poodle and 3 cats. Her hobbies/interests include cooking, baking, fishing, and spending time with her 3 daughters and husband.
Ginny Ferguson has been with Animal Talk since 2015. She serves as both a receptionist and a technician. She is a graduate of St. Charles Community College with an Associates of Art degree. She has 3 dogs and a cat: Sara, Gracie, Odysseus and Ninja. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Amanda Wisnisewski has been with Animal Talk since 2015 and can be found in our grooming salon. She has over 17 years experience as a pet groomer/stylist. She attended St. Charles Community College. She has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 rabbit. Outside of work Amanda likes to spend time with her kids and also enjoys scrap booking.
